Tingling nerve pajn

Sat March 24, possible exposure. Male partner. I’m female. Deep kissing. He performed brief unprotected oral sex on me .

Mon-first. inflamed tastebud , then doc calls says j have strep take second round of antibiotics. Preciously had been on penicillin and had untreated yeast infection, except for one day of the three day monistat.
Tues- more inflamed tastebud , sore under tongue, doctor said it may be viral. Tongue hurts. Better with Benadryl. Wake up, lips burning. Think I have cold sore coming. Put on abreva.
Wed – lips burn , cold sore never happens
Thurs- 99.6 teml, pimple on butt, ingrown hair inflamed on thigh. Dr. Looks at tongue and pimple, says not herpetic. Tongue is white. Thinks I have thrush from antibiotics. Prescribes diflucan, nyastatic mouth wash. Night, wake up lips burning , two red dots , go away by morning.

Fri- take diflucan , feel dizzy, flu like panic, start feeling burning on butt.

Sat sun- thigh and leg pain continues

Monday- gyno visit. She sees nothing herpetic on genitals. Yeast looks fine.

Tues- aching thighs.

Wed- aching thighs , night vaginal burning

Thurs- watery discharge, sciatic pain down leg to foot , especially left.

Fri- urine fine, leg pain continues.

Sat Sun, lips burn. Ice abreva, no cold sore.

Tues-Second gyno looked at another pimple said not herpetic, looked inside vagina as well

next week leg pain continue, by the next sat moves to hands an arms,( herpetic Whitlow?)
Still no visible sores.

There was once a line of pinprick scabs on my sides of butt , but looked like it was from tight jeans seams.

occasionally inflamed hair follicle red Marks..

The leg hand arm elbow knee and feet pain and tingling and occasional vaginal achiness and crawling is what’s really getting to me. About a week ago thick white discharge caught iin public hair

22 days. Any ideas?

I took one acyclovir. Pain seemed to ease in 220 minutes.was also very busy though…. distracted?

Last two weeks ( since about six days after infection) I have been having prodromal symptoms.

1. Began first with burning tingling between butt and thighs.

2. Then pain went to left leg 70 percent, right leg 30. Burning heels. Pain in knees and shins. Electrical charges. Nonstop, but always changing sensations. Occasional sharp pain in inner thighs. Achey muscles as if worked out, I haven’t. Sometimes just pain under left foot arch. Sometimes right.hips, pelvis pain

3. When trying to fall asleep whole body feels electrically charged.

4. Two weeks in get cut on cuticle. Fear, herpetic Whitlow. Start having sensations in both hands.aching arm pits and elbows. No sores. Tingly fingers

5. Some days vaginal burning. Feels like being pinched or crawling sensation over labia. Occasionally whiteyellow discharge caught in pubic hair. Some days vagina is fine.

I don’t recall having a cold sore. Chapped lips , I remember. The guy said he might have had a cold sore once, but no lesions currently.
He had one red mark on his lower back, looked like inflamed tick bite.
Never been tested for herpes.

I once thought I had scabies and was itchy all over. Psychosomatic. But now I don’t feel like I can imagine this muscle soreness and vaginal burning and occasional icey hot feeling and aching feet. Every minor ache I monitor.

obsessively researched symptoms and am not sure if I am manifesting what I have read. lost 7 pounds since this began. Can’t sleep. Wake up with night sweats.

I had strep March 2. 10 days of penicillin, which caused yeast infection I didn’t treat except for monistat 1 day of 3 day dose. two weeks later I test, still have strep … I had the exposure and inflamed taste bud before I started second round of antibiotics, augmentin.

Does this sound like herpes ? Due to antibiotics? Anxiety?

Should I get tested, and would it be invalid since I took one acyclovir

Could acyclovir work in 20 minutes… If it works, does that mean i have it?

Update

Last night I took a shower and examined my boxershort region. Found a red mark,on right inner thigh looked like an ingrown hair. Squeezed it, maybe a hair came out. It Went away by morning. also found thick whiteyellow discharge in pubic hair.

After I examined myself all of my fingertips began to burn. I could feel my pulse in my fingers. And then in my entire hand. woke up with fingers still tingling. Arms feel achey and weak as well. No sores. Slight red marks on thumb. No specific symptoms, But there is tenderness in left pointer finger. Is this the Whitlow activating. If my hands have been tingling for a week would I have a blister by now?

This morning found a red pimple near my butt crack. Not sore. A tiny single white head. It is on the right side. The back of my right thigh hurts and aches. Is this connected? I have some scars on my butt from previous pimples that I never noticed. Are these singular pimples really blisters? Last night the right side of my neck hurt too. What is going on?

The pain is moving all around my body. It’s been three weeks since exposure.

Could strep throat have weakened me so herpes could attack?

I don’t have enough money to be swabbed. Do you think a small butt pimple warrants a swab? Should I just be by abstinent for six months and then do Western blot?

I’ve never had a cold sore. Is it possible that I have spread this all over my body including my all ten of my tingling fingers in three wesks? Or are the other fingers just tingling to annoy me? I feel crazy.

Does herpes cause symptoms that travel the whole body if you have autoinnoculated yourself everywhere?

Could one minute of unprotected oral sex really be this devastating?

Could this be mostly psychosomatic? Have you seen cases of OCD anxious people creating symptoms by hyperfocusing on aches? As I’m writing this I feel pain in my arms and now my back and neck and left ear, now my chest. It’s constant.

Should I try taking the acyclovir again?

I don’t think you need a swab and I think you are WAAAAY overthinking this. Also, herpes doesnt’ create sensations all over your body like you describe not at all. Yes, I think it is psychosomatic. Nothing you have described here makes me worry that you have herpes. You may have had geographic tongue on your tongue but this does not sound like herpes to me. And if you want to do a blood antibody test at some point, I would suggest that antivirals can give you a false negative.

I am most concerned about the nerve pain that occurred about five days after possible exposure and continues now.

It began tingling between the crease of my buttocks and thigh, then travelled down the leg. Sometimes my left knee ached more than my right.

1.Why would I feel nerve pain for weeks after oral sex? I have never had never pain before.

Also it seems strange that these symptoms would come after tongue herpes scare. One gyno said there was a 5 percent chance that the white sore under my tongue may be oral herpes.

2.Could lip burning at different areas just be from thrush? I had it swabbed 4 days after forming along with other areas of my tongue which were newly infected with inflamed tastebuds. Came back negative. Now oral herpes is the least of my concerns.

3. I have read that herpes can effect the sciatic nerve and cause pain in the feet. I felt the foot pain even before I read about it.Are there any other causes of nerve pain after oral sex?

4. Also why would I feel achey tingly ,backs of thighs after no exercise? Felt real.

I forgot to mention that a few times it burned when I peed. Not excruciating, but a little unpleasant.

5.It seems like I have ticked off every symptom (even 99.6 fever), vagina occasionally burns….pins and needles, body aches, malaise, and also a constant feeling of tingling traveling through the body ( at first just legs… Now everywhere) and Just in.the last few days a very minor sore throat, occasionally an intense vibrating headache in the middle of my forehead when I try to sleep?

What else could all of this be if it only began after my possible exposure?

My friends and family all think I am hyperfocusing. But people on forums gave similar herpetic nerve pain stories. It’s so important to me to be safe with my partners. Now I am afraid to even kiss my baby nephews because my mucus membranes in mouth my be shedding. Can I?

I feel that although you have some of the symptoms some people with people experience, what you don’t have is sores.
You are most definitely over-focusing yes, and you haven’t missed a single sensation.
If you want to know if you have herpes or not, get a western blot.
herpes rarely causes foot pain, it doesn’t go on for weeks, kissing kids is fine.

I’m about to get my period, so my chest and face are breaking out. I’m unsure if this is also causing an outbreak.

So today I used a magnifying hand mirror to look at my vagina. I noticed some tiny white dots on the clitoral hood that in couldn’t see with a regular mirror. They are painless. I have white discharge in some places but I tried to wipe away the dots and they stayed.

Then I looked at my anus and noticed that there is another painless spot. When I spread the cheeks I notice that at the bottom of the anus closest to the perineum is a white raised spot. If I spread my cheeks further it flattens and there is some pink around it. I’m not sure what this is. Doesn’t look like a classuc blister…. painless…Fissure?

It’s so hard to examine myself as insm Contorting into strange positions . I’m not sure if it’s herpetic. Feeling lost and have no money for a swab, but feel irresponsible not swabbing everything. I had to quit my job and move home because of all this stress. I just want to know once and for all.

Oddly as I have been obsessing about sores , most of the nerve pain has dissipated. Maybe because I finally had an outbreak…

I got tested for hiv and syphilis today, both negative. I wanted to ask the doctor at planned Parenthood to examine me, but this was before the hand mirror and anal worries… The nurse said my he nerve pain sounded like herpes… The doctor said might be be anxiety…

What are b the n usual characteristics of anal herpes?

I just feel like this disease manifests so uniquely all the time. I can’t trust myself. But n if bi keep examining myself,i. Think I I may never get over this… Should I just wait no and see b if a really nice painful sore comes?

Hi! I read your post and feel so bad for you! I also identify with your anxiety. Terri is amazing and helped me get my head together just from reading her responses to other people. I wanted to tell you, you’re not crazy. I have felt many of the sensations you’re feeling now and I was convinced they were prodromal as well. Turns out, I had recurring yeast infections, recurring BV, and BV can cause tons of pain. I’ve had the burning, tingling, pain in my thighs, the shooting pains in my legs,feet, even my face. My doctor suspects vulvodynia and I’m getting surgery to check for endometriosis this Friday. Definitely research those things if your pain persists. Mines been going on for years. This is not to take away from this being a herpes forum, but I wanted to tell you it could be so many other things. Some women in my support group have these pains as well and got pelvic physical therapy because they were constantly in pain. Some people just have tight muscles down there and it can effect their nerves.
Also, It’s good to inspect your body, but don’t drive yourself crazy. A lot of these bumps and spots are there all the time and we only notice when we are in the middle of an anxiety attack. Take a break from looking and check yourself out when you feel NO pain to get aquatinted with your normal, it helped me a lot.
Bottom line: I have many of your symptoms, I’ve also never had sores anywhere (face or genitals/butt), I get little pimples that I freak out about too…I’ve also gotten tested and the results continually come back negative. hopefully that gives you some confidence or makes you feel less alone. I hope you feel better and I wish you the best.

Update:

I. Finishing up my period now. Obviously discharge is gone. I think it’s normal to have thick white discharge before period… But the white spots on my clitoral hood have now disappeared. Does this make them more likely to have been herpes? Orwere they just a part of the discharge? They were small pinprick white dots (maybe a little bit of red by one) and in two days they have completely disappeared. Most of my prodomal symptoms have lessened since my period. Still occasional aches and tingling. But not as strong.

The raised bump near my anus is still there.i don’t feel it at all though.

I saw some white dots and a line of white in the fold between my labia minora and labia majora on the left side. But I wiped it and they went away. Encrusted discharge, I think.

As I write this, my lower back has begun to ache.legs.still a bit achey , the top of my right knee achrd but I go through periods of time where things almost feel normal.ugh now my elbow…

Part of me doesn’t want to get tested because the test available to me, is not as reliable as the Western blot.

Dont want to freak out over false positive or feel false relief if i get negative results. With all of these symptoms , is it necessary to get tested in your opinion.

Should I get the bump near my anus swabbed? It’s already been too long..
I have never really looked at it before, so don’t know what is normal.

It’s been a month since the genital symptoms have begun….

What are you thinking about all this? Do herpes sores usually hurt a lot. These really haven’t. Have had days of annoying pinching feeling , but not specifically to these places of irritation..

I continue to think that this is not herpes related. You mentioned that you quit your job and moved home over the stress – over this issue? If you had to quit working over this, I strongly suggest that you find the money to get the western blot. I don’t know where you are but if you can arrange to get a single tube of blood drawn, and can ship it to the University of Washington, we can find out for sure if you have herpes or not. It seems to me this should be a financial priority for you, right? Forget swabbing your anus – too late. Don’t waste your money. Not all herpes sores hurt but most are at least tender to the touch.

If you have a Planned Parenthood near you, I’m guessing you are at least in the US, right?

Get this figured out so you know what is going on.

Hi, sorry to intrude. May I ask if this was ever diagnosed? I am going through the exact same thing and find no help from doctors and they won’t provide me broth another antibody test.
