Hi Terri –
I’m a male, 36, no previous STDs or cold sores
Aug 2021 – negative 10 panel test for all STDs, incl HSV1 and HSV2
Last week I had unprotected hook up. She said she tested negative 2 weeks prior and hadn’t been with another guy for “a while.”She performed oral sex, we had unprotected intercourse, followed by more oral sex from her
Let’s call that Day 0
Day 5, wake up with small cuts on each side of my tongue (likely from my retainers) that become what I am 99% sure are canker sores. I’ve gotten canker sores since I was a kid (anytime I have OJ or get cut in my mouth, I get cankers)
However, it gets me worrying if I have any STDs, or if those are really herpes blisters
Day 6 canker sores are getting better by end of day and by Day 7 they no longer hurt (which is typical for my canker sores, just a couple days)
But by this time I’m all over Dr Google and Reddit STD/Herpes forums. Starting to get nervous. Paying close attention to symptoms
Day 7 morning I “notice” my penis has an area on the left side that looks darker purple/reddish. Then I start feeling tingling in the head of my penis. I also notice tingling in the back of my legs (and remember same from night before)
I don’t sleep Night 7, high anxiety, constant electric tingle in penis head. I start “seeing” different things on my penis. Inspecting (too) often. Seems that wherever I look, tingles follow, but it generally returns to the left side of my penis head
Day 8 I’m full-on panic and get blood test (learned it’s too early). Tingle all day. No fever/flu, but feel off
Day 9, still tingling/electric in penis head, but if I “see” something specific, it tingles next. Returning to the left side of head
Day 10-blood test negative for everything (IGG), less tingles, low ab pressure
At this point, everything I’ve thought was a rash, red spot, or beginning of blisters is ultimately nothing/normal skin no lesions
Are my symptoms psychosomatic or indicative of HSV and blisters will follow?

Nothing here concerns me that you might have acquired HSV 2 given what you describe. A darker purple area is not consistent with a herpes presentation and the mouth sores do sound like canker sores to me. Now you have a baseline antibody test. If you want to repeat the test to look for changes, I would wait about 8 more weeks.
