hi – I had a situation in which I made out with someone with hsv2 (potentially hsv1 as well) many times and I believe they were on suppressants (this was fully clothed). after this, we cuddled briefly, and were both wearing underwear. contact didn’t last for more than a minute at a time, maybe 5 times maximum. a few days later I had swollen neck lymph nodes, which went away after about 2 days after I practiced some deep breathing (I am a very anxious person and this was a very anxious period of time). I experienced nothing else until about 14 days later when I found two extremely tiny red sores (the size of maybe 1/4 a pencil eraser) by my tailbone (I work out every day, and the day before this happened I had kept my sweaty workout clothing on for a while and wasn’t able to shower). the spots seemed to line up with where my hair growth is, and where the band of my underwear had been (I could see the imprint my underwear had left), and this is a hairy area where I have experienced some ingrown type hairs before. it was itchy and a bit painful, but after I showered it went away the next day. I think this could have been a folliculitis or dermatitis type thing, or a fabric/elastic allergic reaction, because it didn’t look like herpes to me, but I do not know for sure. on the 21st day, I found a small anal fissure (on the inside) after some bowel straining, which is not uncommon for me because I have chronic diarrhea/constipation, but I’m wondering if this could be related to hsv2 somehow.
my overall question is whether I could have gotten hsv1 or hsv2 from this encounter. I am not as worried about hsv1. I have always had a lot of health anxiety and, although I felt in the moment that this was extremely low risk hsv2 wise, I wanted to check with an expert. thank you for your help!

What you describe presents no risk for HSV 2 and some risk, from the kissing, for HSV 1, from the making out. Have you had any oral symptoms?
