Hi Terry, I am female have had HSV2 genital for 36 years. I recently had one sexual encounter with a man who stated he had no prior symptoms of HSV though his ex-wife of 10 years has HSV1 oral. We used a condom. 4 days later he had a sore in the middle of his shaft. He had no other symptoms. He refuses to speak to me or get a test as I suggested to determine if he has Herpes and if so, is it 1 or 2. Is it possible he contracted herpes from me despite our having used a condom and the sore being in a place that was covered by the condom as opposed to an unexposed area like the base of his penis. Thank you.
You know, I think you are in an unfortunate position, aren’t you? He won’t test, he won’t talk to you, except to drop this bomb on you.
If I were in your situation, I would say the hell with him. You used a condom, you’ve had HSV 2 for a very long time, you didn’t have an outbreak at the time, and the lesions, as you mentioned, were in a place covered by a condom and his wife had HSV 1. Try to not buy into this. I find his behavior reprehensible.
Terri
