49 year old male.
I had full intercourse with a female sex worker last night. I used a condom, but it was a little small. Only covered about 3/4 of the shaft. Head of the penis always protected.
HSV status of the sex worker is unknown.
What is my transmission risk of contracting HSV in this single protected encounter?
I thought the head of the penis was the most important part to keep safe. I’ve read on other forums a man can still get HSV2 from a woman’s pubic area.
Condoms reduce transmission from women to men by 65%. So not perfect. It is inaccurate to think the head of the penis is most susceptible.
We don’t have data on the specific risk of intercourse a single time with a condom but it is certainly low.
