I have hsv2 for more than 3 years now. I got 3-4 outbreaks maybe little more dont remember with no much complications. Just little irritation with blisters etc… Anyways, my question is for my mother. She doesnt know I have herpes and she doesnt have it. I am sure of it because when she started her chemo last year for breast cancer and her stds came negative. I checked her results, they also tested for hsv1-2. Hsv1 positive but 2 was negative. she is not sexually active since her treatment also. But she had several oral herpes outbreak when she got chemo and radiation no genitally! She is 60 yo in menapouse, she won the cancer battle, she has no major sickness. 6 months ago she had a weird pimples on her buttock and doc told her its shingles. (She had shingles years ago on her chest too) 3-4 days ago she told me that she had a weird itch. Other day she told me that she had a rash which is burning around her vaginal opening. I immideatley took her to the doc. Doc didnt even look the rash just took papsmear and gave some yeast medication (itraclanozle), cream etc… She started using and told me that itches almost gone but red rash still remain with tingling, tenderness down there, also back pain with shooting pain in one leg:( could she transmit my herpes through my objects like towels or toilet seat. I know its highly unlikely but what if it happens 🙁 I could ruin her health. I am so sad please help

You cannot transmit herpes through inanimate objects like towels and toilet seats, no. It will not happen. Because of your mom’s health problems she will likely also get things genitally like yeast, that’s very common. And if he did a pap smear, and diagnosed yeast, then he must have also looked at the rash. You can’t really do a pap smear and diagnose a yeast infection without looking a someone’s genitals! I’m assuming you were not in the room when the exam was done correct? You can take transmission of herpes to your mom as a household member off your worry list right now.

She told me that she never had issues down there before even wth chemo or raditation didnt cause her anythimg. She hadnt have any yeast last ten years or so. She has been very healthy, eats healthy no major problems in her health either . This must be weird for me. Since the syptoms looks exactly like mine when I got an outbreak. She keep mentioning about tingling feeling thou. Btw, I was in the room there was a curtaün behind me but I see everything . Doctor didnt properly check just swab the area and send it. No results yet but gave her medicine. I read everywhere to find a case like mine but couldnt find it either but I am scarred to death! 🙁 I know its a small risk but what if happens this way? Isnt there even small chance that she might me getting it from me

No, there is no chance she got this from you. None. There is, of course, a possibility that your mom also has genital herpes from other events in her own sexual life and the chemo suppressed her immune system enough for it to come out. But she did NOT get it from you.

Thank you very much Terri. ı hope she doesnt have it.She finished her chemo two years ago and radiation a year ago so her immune system was great not like receiving dose treatments!
My last question is for my fiance. We are getting married this July. He is aware of my status and accepted but I am scarred to transmit anyway. I am using daily valtrex and we use condom occasinally. He is lately very tired, having numbness-tingling on his left buttock down to his leg. Itchy genital area no blisters though. This is killing me, I wish never met this virus in my life. I live in a muslim country which is hard express our situation sexually. Even the doctors are judgemental about it 🙁 I wish I could live in US and find a good doctor like you.

Well, if she does, she does.
If you are taking daily Valtrex and are using condoms often, it is not likely that his symptoms are herpes, especially without any sores. Many things can cause numbness and tingling, often a disc issue. As long as you can get your Valtrex prescriptions, the heck with the judgmental doctors. You don’t need their opinion you just need their prescription. Do you know your partner’s antibody status? Has he been tested? This is the last post on this subscription.
