Hi Terri,
I wanted to thank you for answering my questions a couple of months ago.
Monday evening, I noticed a single small whitish sore/ulcer on the right side of my upper gums. The sore is on my upper gums underneath my lip and mustache area. It is unnoticeable even if I smile. I noticed it on Monday after eating dinner and passed my tongue through my teeth and gums to remove any food residue. I wouldn’t have noticed it otherwise. It is painless for the most part. It feels as if I were to bite the inside of my lip and pass my tongue over the cut. I feel fine and have no other symptoms. The ulcer looks similar to pictures of canker sore online but just wanted to ask a professional. In your opinion is this a canker sore or cold sore?
I’ve tested negative for both hsv1 and hsv2 three different times, December 22, 2014, January 6, 2015,
and March 30, 2015, through igg blood tests. Since October, 2014, I’ve only kissed my girlfriend who cannot recall ever having a cold sore. She was virgin when we met and had only kiss a couple of guys.
Today, Wednesday, the ulcer looks the same perhaps just a little bit smaller. The picture was taken yesterday morning (Tuesday).
Thank you
This sore seems like a canker sore, which is not caused by herpes. Cold sores are caused by herpes – we are not clear about what causes canker sores. I would believe your antibody tests.
Terri
