Hello Terri,
I am a male in my late 40s. Here is my timeline:
January 2020 – 10-STD panel test through Quest – all negative including HSV1 & 2
February 2020 – new unprotected sexual relationship with girl who I do not know her STD status for sure (claims she is clean)
3/25/2022 – received unprotected oral for 2 mins from “Guy A” who tested negative the month prior
4/4/2022 – made out with and received unprotected oral for several minutes from “Guy B”
4/26/2022 – began to notice burning in the tip of my penis in shower while cleaning the area
4/27-present – burning in tip periodically throughout the day, sometimes with stinging (does not hurt to urinate, but the burning usually comes back shortly afterwards if it had subsided prior)
5/10 – submitted blood and urine to LabCorp for full STD panel
5/11 – everything negative except HSV1 & 2. HSV1 IGG index of 1.63, HSV2 IGG (with reflex) index value of 1.19. HSV2 Supplemental was Negative
5/13 – I noticed some delay when urinating and increased urgency & frequency to urinate. Went to urgent care for the continued burning in top of my urethra and tip of penis. By this day there would sometimes be a few hours at a time when my penis would feel normal. I was given a prostate exam and was told it was normal firmness, but a bit large. I was diagnosed with possible prostatitis and given Sulfamethoxazole & Tamsulosin. Urinalysis came back was normal. Culture was negative. They told me to continue with all the medications and schedule a urology consult.
5/14 – urine flow back to normal. Received STD testing results from “Guy B” – HSV1 positive IGG 3.0. HSV2, positive IGG 1.6 index. He had cold sores earlier in life but never had any symptoms of genital herpes. Still awaiting new STD test results from “Guy A”.I have no other symptoms – no blisters, lesions, sores, discharge, out of ordinary aches and pains, unusual itching, fever, etc. Just the sensitive/sore tip of penis and urethra.
Looking forward to your opinion!

Still looking for a response to this…
Since my original post and taking the antibiotic, my burning and stinging subsided and some dull aches began in my testicles and pelvic region. That lasted for a day or two and also has now subsided. I feel almost normal other than being very tired, but I have been under a lot of stress lately.Looking forward to a response ASAP.

Sorry, I have COVID and haven’t been working.
Both of your values are low positives and I can’t tell you if they are accurate or not. They could both be false positives, both be real positives or one of each. If you really want to know your status, you should obtain the western blot. Your contacts have been recent enough that doing it now would not be as accurate as waiting a few months but as of now, your results are officially unclear. You could also repeat the IGG down the road a month or so and see what you get next.
