Terri, I’m confirmed ghsv-1 via blood test. I’ve had ghsv-1 for a little over a year. I’ve had an initial OB and then 2 very minor OB’s over this past year, all in the same place. My last OB was 4/30/23. A few days ago, I developed what I describe as a non-itchy or painful red skin issue(looks like rash) on both of my thighs. This goes from my hips to mid thighs, basically where my boxer briefs reside. Based on my description, any chance that this could be a massive ghsv-1 OB? I also started suppressive valtrex on 4/30/23, any chance that I’m having a delayed allergic reaction? I feel like this has nothing to do with ghsv-1, but wanted to ask an expert while I wait for dermatology appointment. Thank you for the consideration!
The rash sounds nothing like HSV to me. I think you can eliminate this as a massive outbreak. I actually doubt that it is an allergic reaction because it started almost two months after you started suppression. If it continues to hang around, you could try stopping it and see if the rash goes away.
My guess is that its related to something different. Did you change detergents recently?
Terri
