Healthy, 27 year female, had oral sex on 11/11/22. No prior sexual history.
3 weeks post exposure, started getting yellow green vaginal discharge, diarrhoea, lower back pain.
Full std panel done on 4/12/22. I developed a single, pink, clear wart like single blister- I’m unsure if it was fluid filled as I didn’t touch it but it didn’t hurt when in contact with urine. It was about 6-8mm in diameter. Results from the STD panel positive for gonorrhoea.
7/12/22 the blister disappeared within those 3 days, couldn’t get it swabbed, a gynaecologist prescribed antibiotics and antifungals.
14/12/22 second std panel included HSV2 igm and came back positive (2.32).
14/12/22 Started experiencing intense pelvic pressure, painful lymph node in the groin and lower back pain. Gynaec suspected PID and prescribed antibiotics.
16/12/22 got a HSV1 & 2 IGG CLIA test, it was negative.
18/12/22 flu like symptoms, diarrhoea, body ache, extremely painful lymph nodes in the arm pit, groin, throat, lower back nerve pain, painful and itchy legs and thighs.
21/12/22 intense vulvar itching which got worse at night, thought it was the beginning of lesions.
23/12/22 GP prescribed a 10 day course of Valtrex.
24/12/2022 upon examination by gynaec turns out I managed to scratch hard enough to cause a rash. She prescribed mupirocin and further antifungals.
6/01/23 Cheeks hurt, diarrhoea, sore throat, painful lymph node in the groin, intense dry cough, no congestion, tested negative for covid.
11/01/23 lost sensation externally- could feel pins and needles and pain internally in the groin. Pregablin prescribed by gynaec.
19/01/23 3rd std panel negative for all STD but positive for UTI. Sensation return but extremely diminished.
I have all these nerve related symptoms, painful groin but conflicting results for gHSV.
Is it likely I have it?
I’m approaching 12 weeks since exposure and wanted conclusive results.Do you know if I might be able to get a Western Blot test in London?

The IgM should never have been done and should not be relied upon. It has many false positives. your symptoms, with the exception of the small blister and enlarged lymph nodes, dont’ sound herpetic to me. The negative IgG is good news.
Yes, we have a person with work with in London who can manage the whole western blot experience. She’s terrific. It’s not cheap to get the test sent to UW, but if it’s what you want, we can help you get it.

If you want to work with me to get the blot, you’ll need to schedule a telehealth visit first. And if you do that, you should “create” a US address and phone. I’ll be able to provide you with a lab requisition and instruction and will connect you with our person in London. She does not order the test, we do, but she can arrange the blood draw, help with shipping, etc.
