Would you recommend taking the western blot test, even if I’m still taking valtrex medication daily

No, and I think we might have discussed this. If you want an accurate western blot, come off Valtrex for 12 weeks. If you have an outbreak during that 12 week period, have it swab tested right away and if positive, have it typed for HSV 1 or 2. If HSV 2, you can go back on suppression.
