Valtrex during outbreaks and sexual activity

Hi I am diagnosed with HSV1 Genital(swab test done on the lesion)in April and took valtrex for 7 days 50g twice a day and having an outbreak now and took Valtrex for 3 days 500mg twice a day. This is day 5 and I am still getting little blisters and popping up but no pain or tingling or itching.

Is it better to start a suppressive therapy or can I take just during outbreaks and during sexual activity. If I take 500mg 1 hour before sexual activity for the next three days, will
It be reductive to decrease the shedding?

For suppressive therapy can I take valtrex 500md once a day for 90 days and stop it?.

If you want to use Valtrex suppressively,you need to take 500 mg once a day around the same time each day. It takes five days for the medicine to work fully to protect a partner but remember that ab out 50% of people already have HSV 1, so you are safe to have sex with someone who is also HSV 1 positive. If you take suppression for 90 days, you can stop it but not sure why you would?
