Hi Terri,
Although I’ve received several negative IGG tests for HSV2, I cannot get over the anxiety that I may still be potentially infected. I would like to get a Western Blot test done for peace of mind once and for all. I have a couple questions regarding the logistics of getting the test.
1. I don’t live that close to any AnyLabTestNow testing locations. Do you know of any labs in Utah that would be able to perform the blood draw?
2. For privacy measures, would it be possible to do our video consultation using text chat? I can still be on video, but will just use the chat function instead?
3. Will I have to use my personal doctor or medical info for this?
4. Will there be any way to know that my specimens have arrived to the UW lab in good condition (i.e. if something happens during shipping, or if it is not shipped properly and therefore affects the WB test, will the lab let me know)?
5. Does the WB ever miss infections?

Often, hospital labs will agree to do the blood draws for you.

Yes, there is a chat feature on the evisit app.

No, if you are working with me, you would not need to involve your personal doctor.

If there are any issues with your sample, I would be notified

The HSV 2 test by western blot picks up 99.99% of infections and the HSV 1 western blot picks up 95-96% of infections.
