Hi Terri
I’m thinking about getting the western blot as I’m still nervous about the possibility of false positives on the IGG tests. Do you know of any places in CT that I could have my blood drawn for the western blot?
Yes, we have a list of locations where you can have your blood drawn for the western blot. You’ll need to get the kit – call 206-685-6066 .

In the meantime what is your feeling on these rapid finger stick blood tests. I have had no new partners in 10+ years https://www.stdrapidtestkits.com/herpes-2-rapid-test-kit
How does this test compare to the antibody tests?
How does it compare to the western blot in terms of false positives ( especially with history of hsv1)
Thanks! ( sorry the western blot is a little too expensive for me that this time )
We have seen many false positives on these at-home tests just like we do when people test at in person labs. For both, false positive IgG tests, especially in the low positive range, are quite common.
