western blot test blood sample

Hi Terri

Thank you for this wonderful forum! My question is it necessary for your system to be clear from all medications and suppliments before having your blood drawn for the western blot test? specifically if taking vallacyclovir…will this interfere with that test if blood is not clear?

We only worry about the impact of Valacyclovir when it has been taken for an extended period of time, and only if that happens immediately after a brand new infection. We are not concerned about supplements and the western blot
