Have Western Blot statistics shown a difference of IgG levels between symptomatic and asymptomatic carriers of herpes or are they the same?
Hi there, I would like to know if perhaps my “negative” results on a generic IgG test should be trusted as it was taken only over a month later. Should I attempt another test before considering taking a western blot?
Western blots do not give IgG levels. They are simply positive or negative. A month after a concerning encounter is too sign to get an accurate test. you might want to repeat in 6 weeks or so and if negative, either believe it or follow up with the western blot for greater certainty
