Good morning Terri it’s been awhile since I have asked questions . Recap diagnosed with hsv2 almost 3 years ago . I’ve had oral hsv1 since child hood. Been OK with my diagnoses . So since my diagnoses in 2015 I have not touched myself down there at all I mean at all I wear gloves in the shower to wash I do not use tampons . I always make sure I have tons of toilet paper. I have been terrified of getting whitlow . Past 3 years never had a problem on my hands . But I always have that fear in the back of my head so I’m very careful . I Wright down anytime I cut myself or burn myself so I know that it’s not Whitlow. Well yesterday I woke up started cleaning noticed a red mark on my left pinky on the side of my finger super small tiny bit raised barely I don’t see fluid or clusters . I’m freaking out hasn’t gotten worse since yesterday stayed the same . Since I found out I do itch all over my body hands to but nothing has ever popped up before . Could I have gotten whitlow from when I didn’t know I had it back then from masturbation and it is just now showing up . Like I said I do not touch down there ever gave up masturbation a long time ago . Please give me ur insight on this I’m so sick to my stomach . I’m panicking.
Morning update as of today this all started Tuesday July 4th just a red spot very little today pretty much gone. Never changed. Still would love your opinion . Can whitlow act this way . I’m doing everything I can to prevent this . Would having oral hsv1 for over 30 years help in not getting whitlow. Thank u
Once you have HSV 2 in one location on your body, and the infection has been established for about 4 months, it is extremely unlikely you would acquire it in a new location. You are doing way too much to prevent getting whitlow and nothing you have described here sounds anything like whitlow to me
Terri
