Hello, I dated a girl over a month ago who told me she has hsv2 after I performed manual sex on her (fingering) she said she’s had it for many years and didn’t have an active outbreak during our interaction.
I didn’t have any cuts or abrasions on my fingers, and it’s been 35 days since the incident and I have no symptoms whatsoever.
I got HSV2 IGG blood tests at 21 and 33 days post exposure and both came back negative. I’m getting into a new relationship right now and I’m concerned what if my tests are false negatives.
Should I repeat the test at 8 weeks post exposure? And let’s assume I caught it through my fingers, would it travel to my genitals and shed from that area to my partner?
Thank you so much!
Hi Terri, just making sure you didn’t miss my question. Thank you!
Sorry, I’ve been without internet traveling in Asia. Your situation presents no risk whatsoever for the acquisition of herpes.
Terri
