I’m so glad our website is helpful for you.
How were you diagnosed with HSV 2? This is an important question.
The virus is transmitted from the penis, anus, top of scrotum in men. Outbreaks can occur anywhere in the boxer shorts area, but the thick skin of the buttocks and thighs are abdomen do not allow for viral shedding. Viral shedding only happens in areas of the body with very thin skin – for people with oral infection this would include the mouth, nares and eye.
Antiviral therapy daily will reduce the frequency of viral shedding, even in the person who has no visible symptoms.
Does that answer your question?
