I know what you are asking and I do get it.
I don’t know if she had an antibody test 19 years ago when she was pregnant or not. Some OB providers did the testing; most did not at all. Most still don’t. Perhaps she has test results from that time? Maybe she just thinks they did testing because pregnant women assume they are tested for everything?
The answer to your question is it possible that you had Crohn’s disease and had herpes and didn’t know it and the answer is yes, that could have happened.
So statistically, more women than men are infected with HSV 2. true. yeast infection are confused with herpes often. True. Severe symptoms are more often associated with first infection, true.
But in the end, there is no way to know for sure at this point who infected who.
