I’m posting again because I recently had a genital herpes outbreak. I went to a clinic and they swabbed it and it came back positive for HSV1.
I first came to this forum because I was concerned that I spread herpes to my genital area after touching a cold sore and then masturbating. I felt strongly that when I had that first cold sore, it was my primary outbreak. I was very worried that I could’ve spread the virus to my vaginal area. This was my first post: https://www.westoverheights.com/forum/question/cut-outside-vagina/
Shortly after my first cold sore I had an itchy cut on my vaginal area. I got an IGG blood test and tested positive for HSV1. I thought the HSV1 positive result was just from the cold sore on my mouth and that I couldn’t spread HSV1 type herpes to my genital area or any other parts of my body if I already had antibodies for HSV1 in my system.
Earlier this year, I also posted about getting an outbreak inside my nose, another place I touched myself when I had that first cold sore outbreak.
I’m sad and confused. I have oral and genital herpes and have only tested positive for HSV1.
I felt crazy this whole time for thinking that I infected myself, but that’s the only logical conclusion I can come to at this point.
I know it doesn’t make that much difference at this point, I’m stuck with the virus, but I wanted to hear from you. Am I a part of the very rare, small minority of people who have self-innoculated?
