No, it is absolutely not true that transmission is inevitable. Dr. Handsfield said that? Just not true. I have seen many many couples who stay discordant throughout their lives. Condoms reduce transmissionh= by 96% alone – if you add antiviral therapy the risk are even lower – and that’s pretty damn low. People with new infection have no immune response yet. As the immune system gets more familiar and gets better control, people shed less. it’s pretty simple.
