once you have herpes in one location on your body, it is highly unlikely after about four months, that you would transmit the virus to yourself in a new location. It seems very unlikely that you would have herpetic whitlow for 9 years and not have finger or hand blistering. I am just not worried at this point about you infected a new part of your body.
