The highest I have seen that did NOT confirm by western blot for HSV 1 was a 3.0
I think you need to try to separate societal stigma of HSV 2 with your HSV 1 infection, which is far more common. Even the societal stigma of HSV 2 makes no sense but I think there is overlap in your head if you are very disturbed by this diagnosis. I have HSV 1, two of my three daugthers do, two of my four grandchildren do, my husband does. So we are all in the same boat!
