Orally, I have been also constantly inspecting and I’ve had nothing until a few days ago (50+ days after) which looks like some inflammation between my gum and bottom lip. I do get canker sores inside my cheeks/lips on occasion but it has been awhile. It has been there about 5 days now and no pain to it and looks more like an inflammed gum line than canker sore. Just slightly inflamed right at the outside gum line below my bottom teeth.
I’ve had several tests to this point. All have come back negative with exception of HSV1 showing “positive”. Other tests have included the typical 10-test panels and chlamydia/gonorrhea throat swabs (twice) all negative.
19 days after exposure HSV1 = 1.42 / HSV2 negative (<.91)
23 days after exposure HSV1 = 1.63 / HSV2 negative (<.91)
63 days after exposure HSV1 = 1.20 / HSV2 negative (<.91)
*This is my first knowledge of being HSV1 and I can’t say I ever recall having a cold sore in my lifetime. I just don’t know and have never been tested prior.
This 63 day test (9 week) is from my most recent 10-test panel so I feel I can rule everything out with exception of HSV2.
My specific questions as follows:
1. Based on described exposure (and with her being a stripper), what are your thoughts on potential transmission of either HSV1 or HSV2 from this event? If you had to throw a percentage at it, what would be your first thought? I am VERY anxious about possibly getting HSV2 orally from this exposure and then possibly giving it to myself genitally (auto-inoculation through own saliva). I just need to put this behind me. One other sexual parter in last 22 years and she is 100% free of STI.
2. Based on the following type specific IGG test results (CLIA) through Labcorp, how reassuring should it be that I am HSV2 negative based on the 9 week test result?
3. Was on Acyclovir for 10 days but have been off that at least 30 days. I did start taking Lauricidin (Monolaurin) Will this affect possible HSV2 seroconversion timeline?
Thanks in advance.
