You would still need to pay for the western blot; the study will look at the prevalence of false positive results in states that will not allow shipment of western blot tests. Your gyno exam does not sound consistent with herpes either. Herpes does not cause pain on cervical swabbing. Did you gyno think this looked like herpes to them?
