Oh crap. I forgot to edit my last response. I wanted to let you know that the RPR for syphilis did come back positive twice and the urgent care NP was a little concerned because I did tell her, during the blood draw that I had a previous test with a false positive, however, a T. pallidum-Particle agglutination assay [TP-PA] was run and came back non-reactive. The NP sent my records to Kaiser and pressed my doctor to order another test because she was nervous that I might have a valid syphilis infection and needed a PCR and treatment.
My doctor ordered a T. pallidum-Particle agglutination assay [TP-PA] and I will go to the lab at Kaiser to get another test and I am still awaiting the results of my IgG. The NP made it clear that the HIV test was non-reactive and the IGM was negative and my doctor believes I am in the clear, however, I do not trust the IGM based on the information I have heard.
The doctor also requested a test for pregnancy and auto-immune disorders, which she explained can cause a constant false positive on the RPR.
I will touch base next week and wrap up this thread. Whew, what a past few weeks.
