I would say that if you were going to get a primary HSV 1 infection, your symptoms would be more noticeable than a single blister on your tonsil. And also, when I have seen herpes in the throat with a true first infection, the sores are not white, they are more ulcerated and open looking.

So now I get it about your concerns about getting HSV 1 from kissing. The thing is, what are you going to do to avoid getting HSV 1? Never kiss anyone? At some point, there needs to be a benefit vs. loss analysis done about the possibility of getting HSV 1 infection in life.
