You had the wrong antibody test. You need an IgG antibody test, not an IgM test. That test has many problems with both false positives and false negative. Are you sure it was an IgM? If you get the IgG test and it is negative then I think you can have a bit more confidence. However, if you are particularly worried about HSV 1 from the oral sex (which is the biggest concern with receiving oral sex), then the western blot if more sensitive for HSV 1 than the IgG test.
