Also I just came to know that she did a swab test which turned out to be positive and not the Igg. She didn’t have any info on hsv1. She said she used to get cold sores and don’t really remember the last time she had one(because it was very long ago it seems). She did perform unprotected oral on me on above mentioned occasions and also unprotected oral again yesterday (feb 1st) and We were just fooling around naked and her genitals might have rubbed against my inner thighs (near scrotum) and thighs and probably very brief moments of genital contacts (not penetrative sex).
3. Do you even consider this latest (feb 1st) encounter worrisome?
4.Are all cold sores herpes? Asking just out of curiosity.
5.And since it’s been 8yrs since she got ghsv2 and probably had hsv1 for a long time. What are the chances of me contracting either of of the viruses on my genitals? There was a lot of kissing each time and No she didn’t have any visible sores on her mouth or genitals. I don’t think I had cold sores in my life just canker sores very very often but not cold sores. I don’t think cold sores or oral herpes are common in my home country, India (I’m at the states for masters degree) haven’t seen ppl being worried or even talking about it and I’m just assuming I don’t have hsv1.
6. Is it safe to assume that since I don’t have any symptoms related to hsv2 that I didn’t contract it? (been 10days since initial exposure and I’m not sure if I should be worried about my recent feb 1st encounter)
7. Does race and country dependent vaccination matter in contracting herpes? I was vaccinated for chicken pox when I was 2/3 yrs old and I did actually get chicken pox around 2010.
8. Do you recommend testing without having any hsv1 or hsv2 symptoms now or even after 4months without symptoms?
Thanks you Dr.Terri you forum and your research is of great help.
