You should believe her western blot. The IgG test misses 30% of HSV 1 infections compared to the blot. In terms of your western blot, it can take up to 12 weeks for an infected person to make antibody detectable by the western blot. Since you had been having unprotected sex, you may have a wait awhile for certainty about your own results. If she takes daily antiviral medication and you use a condom, the risk of transmission is about 1-2% per year, having sex about twice a week – more sex, more risk.
