“ HSV test is positive which means you have been exposed and have herpes virus.
The IGM level is elevated in early infection can be elevated for months before developing antibodies.
I can see that the IGM level has increased since last check, so antibodies may turn positive in the future ( specific to HSV 1 or 2).
You have the HSV virus and it can be spread to others. Wear condoms for intercourse. Dont kiss others if you develop a cold sore.
In summary, you may never develop a genital sore or cold sore, but you are positive for HSV virus.
We certainly could retest in 12 months or so if that will give you piece of mind.”
Unfortunately, your provider is completely unaware of the CDC recommendation to never use the IgM test to sort out HSV infection. What a shame.
Your IgG is the one you should pay attention to, which is negative. I’m so sorry you got such bad advice.
