Thank you for your response. I asked the individual with whom I had a one night stand whether he has ever tested positive for hsv2 and he said no. Since my last post, I took another igg blood test but this time it came back at 3.62 with a positive supplemental. Despite the previous low positive result with a negative supplemental (taken over a year after the unprotected sex encounter), the negative pcr swabs, and the limited sexual history (assuming the one night stand individual is telling the truth and has been tested before for HSV 2) should I assume that this new result means I have HSV 2? Is there still value in getting the Western Blot?
