I am taking Valacyclovir 500mg daily, and i was diagnosed with a swab. Do you recommended getting an antibody test done? Will there be a difference in results?

I am very paranoid and have anxiety about transmitting OHSV1 to myself so i have decided to go off the antivirals and treat OB if they come. If i went off the meds now how long will it take for me to start developing antibodies and when do you think i will have full immunity? I know if i hadn’t started the antivirals it would have taken 4 months.

Also regarding the tingling sensation people develop prior to an OHSV1 OB, is it usually all over the lips- top and bottom, or localized to a small area. I have been experiencing a very mild tingling sensation on and off for the past 3 days to a small area on my lips. could this be a sign that i have OHSV1? Could the antivirals i was taking prevent an OB. i am also worried i may have contracted it when i contracted GHSV1. It is frustrating that there is not test to know if i have both. But if i contracted both at the same time, should i have developed sores on my lips by now? i know some never develop an OB. I am just very worried as i do not want both and it’s frustrating not knowing. 🙁

He got tested and does not have the virus. despite giving him all the information about the disease and that if we take all the proper precautions, it is very rare to transmit, he is still reluctant to be intimate with me because of his anxiety. Is there any other information i can give to him or other way i can ease his mind about this?

Yes, i am sure i am having an OB as there are sores. It is almost cleared up now, but i will get a swab done if i ever develop another OB of this severity.

My rash has also cleared up now, but i will definitely get it swabbed i develop them again.
