If your contact was in October and your HSV 2 was equivocal in January, I think you are not infected and should not worry about this. In all of the people who had equivocal results for whom I have ordered western blots, only one has been positive. A very rare event. BTW, a negative swab test on an asymptomatic person really means nothing. If you want to repeat the IgG test, I don’t see why not. But if you get a low positive this time, you’ll need a western blot. Maybe best to just drop it?
