I’m wondering if you have test results back yet?
When you got oral herpes years, ago, did that partner also give you oral sex? It is possible that you acquired HSV 1 both orally and genitally at the same time and now you are having a recurrence of HSV 1? Was an antibody test done when you had the swab test of the lesion? If the lesion swab is negative, I would strongly encourage you to have an IgG test done for HSV 1 and 2. Do you know that the oral lesion was HSV 1 through testing or is that an assumption only?
