If your symptoms remain about the same even while taking Valtrex, it seems very unlikely to me that they are due to HSV.
I’ve certainly had other patients in this situation, absolutely. Many of them end up finding that they don’t have herpes after all. Others also find that Valtrex doesn’t help at all, so I believe it is likely that something else could be going on here. Others are doing daily home swabbing for a set amount of time to see if these sensations actually represent viral shedding or not.
Have you considered stopping the Biotin and seeing if your IgG value remains the same?
I am just not familiar with the Chinese medicines that might be used but I was skeptical of acupuncture and found it totally took away my back pain, as a last resort, so I’m a believer that there are other things that could help herpes in the realm of other kinds of treatment but can’t recommend anything broadly that hasn’t undergone rigorous scientific review here.
