Was this an IgG test, and IgM test, were there separate tests for HSV 1 and 2? Can you list out exactly what the results say for me, please?
If you are positive with an IgG test for HSV 2 only with an index value of 60.54, this means you’ve had this infection for a while – but you either aren’t symptomatic or you are missing symptoms of HSV 2.
Condoms reduce the transmission of HSV 2 from females to males by 65%, if you are female. If you are having sex with someone who is negative for HSV 2 or someone who does not know their status, you would benefit from daily antiviral medicine, to reduce transmission by almost 50%. the chances of you transmitting with a single act of protected intercourse is very low indeed.
