If the supplemental test reads “abnormal” then it is positive. Your index value is incredibly low and we have more than 60 people who have had positive supplemental tests with negative western blots. I would very strongly recommend that you NOT believe this result at this time but get the western blot now to find out your status. I can help you with this or you and your own provider can work with the University of Washington to get the test. UW will not bill insurance if you don’t live in WA but you can pay cash. Or I can help you online to get this – you can make an appointment to get a western blot with me on this website – just follow the link to “get a western blot” to set up an appointment. I think I have appointments available this Tuesday.
