What causes IgG levels to fluctuate and what do the numbers coincide with?
We don’t know the answer to that – the numbers themselves don’t mean anything really, when they are this high, only that you are almost certainly infected.
If I take Valacyclovir, is there any evidence that 1000mg per day helps to reduce viral shedding any more than taking 500mg per day. Obviously I would rather take 500mg per day if possible.
It might help more, yes. And I like 500 twice a day vs. once a day of 1,000 to keep drug levels even.
If I want to collect a swab for PCR testing while I’m having symptoms, what steps do I need to take to get that going with you?
We would need to have a video consult to talk about this.
If your symptoms don’t change when taking antivirals, I think it is very unlikely that they are due to herpes, but I don’t know what they might be. Swabbing would help clarify that.
