The swab test thankfully came back negative. I was worried that maybe since the swab was done before I self broke the bump that appears that perhaps it could be inaccurate. But I was assured the swag is accurate enough that even going over the bump would’ve been able to detect HSV.
No bacteria cultures were done unfortunately, I did do follow up urine testing for additional STDs which also came back negative. Only thing I haven’t done is blood test for syphilis (which is the only remaining std I could think of to rule out) but was also assured that based on the look/spot it was more than likely not syphilis. The Dr. also didn’t believe it was fungal or bacterial based on look. Since I posted, the small cuts in the skin have healed, some of the skin is still sort of glossy/shiny looking though. It’s note sore feeling or as tender anymore as well. Jock itch? Heat rash? Rubbing rash? I’m not sure at this point. I don’t think it’s fully gone away 100%. But I’m just glad it’s not HSV….I hope
