Thank you for your response and I am glad you are on the mend and feeling better. I hope you continue to strengthen and have a full recovery!
The way the topical steroids were prescribed, I used them for two weeks on, one week off. The oral fluconazole was a 7 day regimen. I saw no response or improvement with the use of any of those products.
Today, I am probably at about 60% improvement from my worst, with time being the only thing that has helped. I am unable to wear my normal boxer briefs and still must wear loose cotton boxers. I no longer exhibit any redness, just continue with the same sensitivity, irritation and discomfort. Sometimes I will feel tingling, sometimes it itches very briefly, and sometimes the scrotum feels painful when it rubs against my thigh. The one canstant in the bilateral groin fold irritation and in the perineum. I have not seen a breakout or lesion yet that looked like hsv, just my typical folliculitis with white pus and typically a hair centered.
I forgot to mention that at day 26, day 30 and day 70 I had pcr dna swabs done at my dermatologist office for hsv. They swabbed only the area where I was having discomfort, so mainly my groin folds and perineum. They did not swab my rectum or penis. All three tests returned negative, but after reading I am not sure if the correct area was swabbed to detect shedding without lesion.
I have had zero sexual contact since this event. In your opinion, with my symptom list and timeline, have you ever seen another person present this way for hsv2? My doctors now all agree this is hsv2 due to the change to a positive supplemental and believe that all my symptoms are now related. I would love any insight on your experience to either lead me to hope or acceptance. Thank you for your help.
