1. My last visit when I got the swab my doctor prescribed me valacyclovir 1 gram by mouth daily. So I just started taking that today. What is the rate of transmital to my partner if I’m not having symptoms and I’m taking this daily, does her taking it help also?
We don’t have female to female transmission rates, but it can be transmitted through sex toys and genital to genital contact but is rarely transmitted via oral sex.
2. I had read that if someone has hsv 1 they can’t contract hsv 2 after that. Is that correct or is she still at risk?
That is definitely not true – she is still vulnerable to acquisition of HSV 2.
3. Does the numbers in the IgG results mean something?
Not really. it is the western blot positive that matters.
