So the blister on my butt could it have been shingles? It was not painful at all Just extremely itchy. It started out red then the blister formed again I have had nothing like that in 26 years? So if you have shingles how long does it take for antibodies to form for that? Is it ever just one blister?
Shingles does not have this appearance. And you already have antibodies because of chicken pox.
I understand HSV-1 and HSV-2 look exactly the same and I understand that HSV2 occurs more often, are the blisters worse and more painful?
No, they look the same
What percentage of people have HSV2 orally?
We have no idea, but probably few
And how is HSV-1 and HSV-2 managed differently? And does the treatment very according to a primary outbreak or is it different or something that may have been there 26 years.
Both can be treated with antiviral medicine daily or episodically. Most people with genital HSV 1 do not take medicine daily
