Terri, thank you so much for your response. Because I had such an insane acute response after giving the first guy oral sex almost immediately following the encounter wouldn’t that be kind of characteristic of a primary infection / new exposure to the virus? Or am I wrong in assuming that? I was just soo sick. So many ulcers allll over my gums, worst sore throat i ever had and malaise.
I have never had a cold sore and don’t believe ive had a genital sore. I think I’ve just had occasional ingrown hairs from shaving / waxing and friction from sweating from workouts but I’ll pay more attention going forward. Is there a chance that if i have oral hsv2 that i could give it to myself genitally? And for him is the transmissibility risk extremely high for Oral hsv2 and genital hsv2? I understand asymptomatic shedding but I can’t find much reliable info about the percentages for hsv2.
I disclosed yesterday to him and said basically everything i told you and he said he cares about me and just wants to be with me, and doesn’t really care. Which I’m extremely relieved about. We are exclusively dating as of yesterday and i explained the risks involved in sex and kissing and skin to skin contact and he basically wasn’t really phased. Would it be helpful for him to take antivirals? I’m taking them because I would rather suppress the virus then swab a lesion. Let me know at your nearest convenience. Thank you again for all that you do and for being such an incredible resource.
