Thanks again Terri. A few follow ups:

– I know you said I should have seroconverted by now, but I just wanted to reiterate, I was on antivirals for about 9 weeks right when my symptoms began (500mg valtrex daily). I’m also HSV1 positive with an index of ~25. I came off the antivirals for 12 weeks, then received a negative HSV2 IgG. I’m still concerned that the initial 9 weeks of antiviral therapy would have an effect on my test results. Are you saying at this point that should not be the case?

– I certainly want to get the blot, and will probably work with you to do it. I’m just still concerned about delayed seroconversion, as I’ve heard stories about people taking 6 months or more to convert. Are you confident the blot would be accurate now? (At this point about 14 weeks off any antivirals)

– the negative PCR swab I received. How much weight would you put behind that? The swabbed areas were definitely in a healing phase. How common are false negatives with PCR swabs?
