Did you have your symptoms swab tested to know that they are herpes?
One outbreak in five years does not suggest anything about your future with HSV 1 genitally. It is very unlikely to continue to break out often.
Transmitting it to him at this point, either from him giving you oral sex or having intercourse with you, is very unlikely!
