Thanks Terri, I’m almost to 16 weeks at this point so I’ll go ahead and set up a consultation with you soon.
Last round of questions, mostly related to seroconversion, sorry for all the paranoia here i’m just very stressed:
-I did at two instances during those 12 weeks take 1000mg of valtrex for oral cold sores. My assumption is that these two isolated events would NOT have a major effect on the seroconversion timeline. Is that an accurate assumption?
– I’ve heard that some people never seroconvert, or take a very very long time to, have you seen this in your practice? At least some of my fear comes from this study, which has some curves that show individuals not seroconverting for 300+ days. Especially from the non-primary group. However I suppose its entirely possible that this study did not control for antiviral medication.
– Is there a correlation between symptoms and seroconversion? My fear being that I haven’t had any major symptoms within the last three months or so, since I came off antivirals, so if the virus has essentially been sleeping in my system, wouldn’t my body not produce an immune response?
– Do commercial ELISAs tend to detect HSV2 infection sooner than WB? I’ve seen this advertised a few places.
– Have you ever observed somebody develop HSV1 genitally after having a pre established HSV1 oral infection? It seems like from what I’ve read, this is extremely unlikely to impossible.
– How does the commercial HSV2 inhibition assay test compare to the Western Blot, is this a reliable test in your opinion?
Thank you again for this forum Terri, and my apologies again for all the redundancy. I’ll set up time for a consultation soon.
