If you have genital HSV one, you will likely shed very infrequently. We honestly don’t know the benefit of taking suppressive antiviral medicine for people who have genital HSV one because it’s so rarely is shed. If you have a partner concerned about your HSV one infection, you could consider suppression, although I honestly don’t know how much good it will do to reduce transmission since transmission of genital HSV one is so rare.
