We are not aware that any supplements cause a false positive on the HSV-2 IgG antibody test. However, this test has false positives, and last week alone I had someone with an index value of eight not confirmed by western blot. The herpes western blot from the University of Washington is the gold standard antibody test. If you want to know if you have HSV two for certain, that is the test that you need to get. I think herpes is likely in your situation with that index value but it’s not certain.
